Derek Twigg, MP for Halton

Derek attended an event in Castlefields last Friday to mark the demolition of the existing local centre to facilitate the Castlefields Village Square Redevelopment.

The Castlefields Village Square Development will deliver the following:

• A new Community Centre
• 25 residential units for rental
• retail units including a Post Office
• A new health centre including a retail pharmacy
• public realm/village sqaure (including an improved bus way, bus stops and lighting)

Derek said:

"I was pleased to attend this important milestone in the transformation of Castlefields, massive improvements in housing have already taken place and the new Village Centre will be at the heart of the Castlefields community with fantastic new facilities.  This is a great example of public sector partners working together along with the private sector to help improve the lives of local people."
