Derek Twigg, MP for Halton

On Sunday Derek attended a celebration event to mark the centenary of St. Mary's C of E Church in West Bank.  The celebration included a procession around the streets of West Bank led by the band of the Boy's Brigade, followed by a service in St. Mary's led by the Bishop of Liverpool James Jones.

Derek said:

"It was a pleasure to attend the celebration to mark the centenary of St. Mary's which is a beautiful church sitting just yards from the river Mersey.  A large number of local people attended the event including people from outside the West Bank community. I was also pleased to see Bishop Jones give it his support and lead the celebrations."
