Derek attends opening of £2.3 million housing scheme in Widnes

On May 13th, Derek officially opened Halton Housing Trust's new £2.3 million development in Widnes.  The Trust's flagship development will provide much-needed homes for young families and people living with a wide range of health needs.  In addition to 12 apartments in Viking Court, the development also includes other properties designed specifically to house families with children who have disabilities and several homes wihich have included customised adaptations to make life easier for people who have specific needs.

Derek said: "I am delighted to have had the opportunity to open a development which will bring so many people a greater quality of life.  I would like to congratulate Halton Housing Trust and its partners for their incredible efforts in putting together a development that enhances the environment around it and provides much-needed homes.   I hope that the the new residents will be very happy living in these new homes and that Halton Housing Trust continues to provide more properties in the area going forward."

Derek was joined by Cllr Rob Polhill, Nick Atkin, Chief Executive of Halton Housing Trust and Ingrid Fife, Chair of the Trust's Board of Management, at the opening of Viking Court, Elizabeth Court and Charlotte Walk.
