Derek recently attended a ceremony to mark the opening of the new micro brewery next to the walled garden of the historic Norton Priory where monks used to make ale centuries ago. It's a unique project because it involves adults with learning disabilities producing the ale.
Top comedian John Bishop, who grew up in Runcorn, returned to launch the micro brewery.
Priory Ale is being sold at the Stobart Stadium Widnes and will be offered to local pubs.
Derek said:
"I was pleased to be able to attend the opening of the new micro brewery and talk to many of the people involved in the project. It is a great initiative and especially praise worthy that it provides work for adults with learning difficulties."
