Derek Twigg, MP for Halton

Derek has given his congratulations to local students on their A-Level results announced last Thursday.

Derek said:

"I congratulate our students on their hard work in achieving excellent results at A Level which demonstrates the depth of talent we have here in Halton.  I also congratulate the teaching and support staff at our College and sixth forms for their hard work and dedication they have shown to enable our young people to achieve these results."

It is also great news that Riverside College had performed so well again this year and I would like to pay tribute to College Principal Michael Sheehan and his team for the work they have put in over the past two to three years to turn the College around to make it the successful institution it has become.  There is certainly no need for our young people to travel out of the Borough to pursue A Levels when they can get an excellent education at Riverside College."
