Derek raises concerns about Adult Dose Swine Flu Jab for Halton children |

Derek has contacted Halton & St Helens Primary Care Trust Chief Executive Andrew Burgess to express his concerns over the fact that 59 local children were mistakenly given an adult dose of the Swine Flu Jab last week.
Derek said:
"I have been contacted by concerned parents and although parents have been assured their children should suffer no ill-effects it is clear from talking to them that the PCT still needs to do more to reassure them.
There are a number of important questions that the PCT needs to answer in regards to their clinical governance. I would especially like to know how the error was not discovered until after 59 children had received the jab. Also what procedures are in place to monitor children over the next few weeks to reassure parents further? In addition the PCT needs to review if their communications with parents after they found the error met standards of best practice." |
