Derek Twigg, MP for Halton

Derek attaches great importance to visiting and supporting local businesses and on visiting ASM Medicare Ltd on Picow Farm Road in Runcorn, Derek was very impressed with ASM's on site production facilities. His discussions with MD Roy Couzens and Group Finance Director Mr Brian Guest centred on the import of aids for daily living products and the supply of locally manufactured goods, especially in the Halton district and North Wales.

They also discussed the impact on ASM of the public sector cuts announcements if they fall on social services and the supply of disability equipment; these measures will not create any private sector jobs as the Government anticipates.
