Derek Twigg, MP for Halton

Last Saturday Derek visited Widnes & Runcorn Cancer Support Group in Alforde Street, Widnes.

The Group was holding an open day and he went along to support them.  They provide emotional & psychological support to patients, carers and families who have been affected by cancer.

Derek said:

"I have had a long association with the Support Group and was only too willing to visit them during their open day to again offer them my support; they do excellent work supporting those affected by cancer and provide a range of services.  I was delighted to meet Dee Graal, Ian Hare and their team and also talk with members of the group to hear of their experiences.  In an area such as Halton with some of the highest rates of cancer in the UK, the work of the Widnes & Runcorn Cancer Support Group is so important."
