Derek Twigg visits The Grange School to support the ‘Send all my Friends to School’ campaign.

09 Sep 2014

Derek Twigg MP visited The Grange School at the end of the summer term to listen to pupils and answer their questions about the ‘Send All My Friends to School‘ campaign, being run by the Global Campaign for Education UK.
The campaign brings together school children to voice the right to education that everyone should have across the world and especially focuses on the need to get all disabled children a good education. Out of the 54 million children across the world who don’t attend school over a third are disabled and the campaign aims to get world leaders to do more to address this worrying situation.
Derek Twigg MP said: “It was a pleasure to visit The Grange and to hear about the work the pupils are doing to support this very worthwhile campaign.  We are lucky to live in a country where every child can go to school, regardless of whether they have a disability, but this is sadly not the case everywhere and pupils at The Grange should be commended for raising awareness of such an important issue”.
