Derek Twigg, MP for Halton

Earlier this week Derek paid a visit to the Trade Show for Halton Voluntary Action.

Derek said:

"It was a pleasure to support the trade show and meet so many of the voluntary organisations who work in and support the local community in Halton.  I was struck by the enthusiasm and commitment of all the people I met.

There is a strong and vibrant voluntary sector in Halton and it was good to see how well they all work closely together.

However, a number of people expressed their concern to me about the impact on the voluntary sector of the impending cuts in public spending to which the Coalition Government is committed."
