Derek welcomes Labour's commitment to Mersey Gateway Bridge |

Derek has warmly welcomed the letter he received last week from Labour's Transport Secretary Lord Andrew Adonis stating that "further to your recent representations, I can confirm that Labour is committed to taking forward the Mersey Gateway Bridge, which offers considerable benefits for Merseyside and Cheshire."
Commenting on the news, Derek said:
"The Mersey Gateway Project is very important for the easing of congestion on the current Bridge. It is also central to boosting local economic development, by creating and supporting 4-5,000 jobs after its completion, and hundreds of construction jobs whilst it is being built."
