Derek Twigg, MP for Halton

To mark the recently-held 'Proud of Pubs' week and to highlight the valuable role pubs play in the local community, Derek paid a visit to The Halfway House in Runcorn.

Derek said:

"I was pleased to be able to visit The Halfaway House and speak to landlord Bob Conway and some of his regular customers.  I heard whan an important part of the community the pub is, and could see the effort that Bob has been putting into Halfway House to make it such a popular and well used community pub.

Mr. Conway said:

"Derek was very welcome at The Halfway House and was impressed by what he saw and heard.  I was able to tell him about the variety of entertainment we put on here and the need for community pubs to be supported."
