Derek Twigg MP and Mike Hall MP Welcome £15 million allocated to North Cheshire Hospitals
Derek Twigg MP and Mike Hall MP today welcomed the news that North Cheshire Hospitals is to receive £15million from the capital fund allocation. However, the money will only be issued following approval of the business case which is being considered in the next few weeks.

College Merger Approved by Minister
Derek Twigg MP today welcomed the announcement by the education minister Bill Rammell MP that the merger of Widnes and Runcorn Sixth Form College and Halton College has been approved.

Mersey Gateway Moves a Step Closer
Derek Twigg MP today welcomed the news that the proposed new Mersey gateway scheme has moved a step closer when Transport Secretary Alistair Darling approved the scheme for entry into the programme of major schemes and agreed government funding of £209m.

Mike Hall M.P. and Derek Twigg have met Jane Kennedy Minister of State for Health about Halton Hospital.
The purpose of the meeting was to let her know of the deep concerns in Halton about the future of the hospital and to discuss various options for the management of Halton Hospital and to impress upon the Minister to need to secure the long future of the Hospital.

Derek Twigg MP and Mike Hall MP Welcome Free Local Bus Travel for the Over 60s and the Disabled in Halton
Derek Twigg MP and Mike Hall MP today welcomed a double piece of good news for Halton pensioners. From April 1 this year people over 60 and disabled people in Halton will be able to travel for free on their local bus service.
